Whoever Made his Intention for the Aakhirah

When the servant wakes up and passes the night with no other concern except for Allaah, alone; Allaah, glorified is He, assumes all of his needs. He bears upon Himself everything that he is concerned with. He empties his heart of everything except the love for Him, and his tongue for remembering Him, and his limbs for His obedience.

And if he wakes up and passes the night and the Dunyaa is his main concern, then He will make him bear the burden of all that he is concerned with, his grief, and all of his troubles. He will entrust him to only himself. He will make his heart too preoccupied with the love of the creation, away from the love of Him, and his tongue with the remembrance of them, away from the remembrance of Him, and his limbs in the service of them, away from the obedience to Him. He will strive and work so hard like the work of an animal in the service of another; similar to the bellows that inflates its stomach then blows out its ribs for the benefit of another. [1]

So everyone who turns away from the servitude to Allaah, His obedience, and the love for Him; He will subject him to trials in the servitude of the creation, their service, and the love for them.

Allaah, the Most High, Says:

"And whoever is blinded from the remembrance of the Most Merciful - We appoint for him a devil, and he is a companion to him." [Az-Zukhruf : 36]

Footnotes:

[1] As is in the Hadeeth of Zayd ibn Thaabit (Radhiallahu 'Anhu) which has been recorded by Ahmad, (5/183); Ibn Maajah, (4105); and Ibn Hibaan, (680); that the Prophet (Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wa Sallam) said, "Whoever's intention is for the Dunyaa, Allaah will scatter his affairs, place his poverty between his eyes, and nothing of the Dunyaa will come to him except for that which He has written for him. And whoever's intention is for the Hereafter, Allaah will gather together his affairs, place his richness within his heart, and the Dunyaa will come to him unwillingly." Its chain is Saheeh as Ibn Hibaan and Al-Boosayree declared it to be Saheeh as well as the Shaykh, the Imaam Al-Albaanee in As-Saheehah, (950).
